You would be working with an experienced and FUN PTO board.

If you are interested in running for this or any Board position, please email a nomination letter to Karen Huffman at knhuffman@verizon.net by Wednesday MAY 30th.

THE FINAL BSA MEETING AND ELECTIONS ARE MONDAY JUNE 4th at 7pm in The Byam Library.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT

SAVE THE DATE –  Friday, June 15th from 6:00-9:00pm. This is an event for folks of all ages, so invite your family and friends.  The BSA turns the playground, cafe and gymnasium into a carnival atmosphere with games, fun, food, and prizes.  To pull this event off, we need close to 100 volunteers.  Volunteers help to set up/breakdown; man the game stations as well as the ticket, food and prize tables.  We need volunteers to run 10 game stations.  Just 1 hour of your time is all we are asking for.  The famous “cake walk” is always a big hit for all family members, and we also need a minimum of 60 cakes for the “cake walk” -- the gaudier the better!  We need the necessary volunteers in advance to have the event.  Please contact Tom & Ellen DiPasquale at etdipasquale@comcast.net (978) 256-0082 or (978) 479-9778 (Cell) as soon as possible. This is a really FUN family event so we hope you can help out in some way.  Look for the flyer!

ART SHOW

TUESDAY June 12 - BYAM Art Show 5pm - 7pm

For this event, the cafe and gymnasium are turned into an art gallery.

One piece of artwork from every child is put on display.

During this event families are able to pick up their child’s art portfolio.

Are you interested in helping with the show?

If you would like to assist with mounting and/or layout of the artwork -- it is very easy and can be done at home

please contact Brita Dean at baxley99@aol.com

PARENTING WORKSHOP REMINDER
Part three of the Parenting Workshop series, facilitated by Ms. Dawn Gesualdi, will be held on May 22nd at 6:00 PM.  The topic is:  Stress and Time Management/Relaxation Techniques for the family.  The workshop will be held in the Byam School library.  All parents and guardians are welcome to attend.

FIELD DAY

On Thursday May 24th (raindate, Friday June 1st), the Byam School will be having their first all-school FIELD DAY!  Each grade level will have the opportunity to travel around to the different Summer Olympic themed activity stations.  There will be approximately ten stations and each station will about 7-10 minutes long.
Here is the schedule:
1st and 2nd Grade – 9:30-11:30
Kindergarten AM – 10:00-10:45
3rd and 4th Grade – 1:00-3:00
Kindergarten PM – 1:30-2:15

We will be asking for volunteers to help us with the stations on Field Day.  Look for the volunteer forms in your child’s backpack.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

We have had several inquiries about how to donate to the Teacher Appreciation events.  Each grade is hosting a different own event for all of the Byam Teachers and Staff.   The dates are posted below.
